PLASTICIZED PILLOWS
This art project investigates the phenomenon of plasticity and transformation of soft objects, particularly pillows. The core idea is to study the process by which a soft, elastic pillow transitions into a state of forced, fixed rigidity.
Through experimentation, the artist seeks to find the critical point at which the visual pattern or design on the pillow's surface ceases to be recognizable and loses its original meaning. In this way, the project presents the viewer with a dilemma, where the familiar perception of the pillow's softness, elasticity, and flexibility contradicts its actual hardness and stiffness.
The artist aims to evoke internal tactile sensations in the viewer, based solely on the visual perception of the plasticized object. Furthermore, the project encourages contemplation on the application of the practice of incongruity in life, as an attempt to uncover the true state of each object in the surrounding environment.
Thus, "PLASTICIZED PILLOWS" represents an investigation into the transformation of the material properties of familiar objects, challenging our perception of the world around us and prompting a re-evaluation of established notions.
